abstract:The Linguistic Atlas of Chinese Dialects (), edited by Cao Zhiyun and published in 2008 in three volumes, is a major attempt at documenting the geography of dialects of Chinese. Unlike the Language Atlas of China (1987), which maps the distribution of both minority languages and Chinese dialects, the new atlas is a collection of maps of various features of dialects.
